The worst thing about Sunday was no Korko Chainz. Also his illustrious streak of games with at least one TD ended as he was unable to secure even a garbage time TD.
Hock dropped a sure TD, unfortunately. But, the way Kirk played yesterday, he doesn’t deserve to have that streak extended. He played like shit, along with 99% of the team and the entire coaching staff (well, the coaches didn’t play, but you get what I mean).
Hock did, though I thought they should have run the ball at that point.

Meh, we could’ve signed Suh, which I’d have been on board with, but we have zero cap space (thanks Rick!). Honestly, I don’t care to sacrifice the future, as I don’t see a high probability of us making a bowl run this year. Make decisions to build this team for the future, shed the shitty contracts that Rick signed, infuse young talent into the team.
Anyone who EXPECTS a bowl run this year is delusional. Could it happen? Sure, anything can happen. Is it likely? No.
Thats fair. I agree with your assessment. There is a small part of me however that thinks, if you kinda lucked into a weak conference and have a good record, might as well go full rams and go for it all that year. You can free up a lot of cap space next season by starting the needed rebuild, getting rid of Cook, Smith, etc.
It’s not that easy, though. You can’t create a shit load of dead cap space, either. Wreck created a mess, the regime is trying to clean it up while remaining competitive, and doing a damn fine job of it. I just don’t think they have quite enough to make a solid bowl run, BUT if bounces go their way, they could get the job done. Need Tomlinson back, need to continue to be fortunate with injuries, and also need some other things to go right. It’s not out of reach, but it’s improbable. I still enjoy watching this year’s team more than anything we’ve fielded since 2017.

Yeah, we certainly needed a TE, and we snagged one of the top young TEs in the league. It was a move to build for the future, IMO.
It was 100% as he’s 25 and at 10M.

I just rewatched some of the sacks on twitter. Holy shit was Dallas in the back field quickly on at least half the sacks. And not all of them were missed blocking assignments.

I have had some memorable experiences on phone calls for technical support but Saturday might have taken the cake. First of all, the install of another cellular booster antenna went amazingly well. Then I installed a “deflector” to keep condensation/steam dripping onto the natural gas meter from the boiler exhaust. Beautiful day, did some snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snow plowing, etc.
Decided about 3:30 pm to fire up my home workstation and do some work. The computer said no internet connection. Hmm. I have this Cisco Meraki router that firewalls the connection, I know the ISP has had issues with the Meraki, not that I understand such things.
I call my employers IT help line. Guy asks me to open up, say, google. No luck. He says sounds like your fiber is down, which seems possible. I call the ISP, the first guy actually has the same first name as me so you know he’s a good guy, had me check the battery of the fiber, do some other normal techy troubleshooting, says I think it’s your Meraki as there are no outages in your area (note, when the internet connectivity terminates in a router that doesn’t belong to the ISP they always want to blame that). I say okay, must be a tech issue on my side of things, I’ll send an email to tech support, I cc as many tech people as I can think of. Pretty soon I have three different guys calling (thank goodness I got the cell booster installed), trying to remote in, having me plug in this and check that. Finally they decide the problem is on the ISP end. I call them back and get a real bundle of joy. What I think of happening if you rolled up kodiak and five in a cinnamon roll and put them in charge of answering the tech support line.
I was on the phone with this guy for 75 minutes. Not 7.5 minutes. 75 minutes. I was BEGGING him to just put in a ticket for a service call and there was something mentally deficient in the guy. He may have been a homeless guy with a flip phone for all I know. Brutal. I mean he’s telling me “to quit being an asshole” when I said it’s been sixty minutes, can you just put in the ticket so I can go about my business?
Thirty minutes later I got a survey from the ISP entitled “now that your service is restored, tell us how you did”. They got a MT Viking fireball.
Guy from my employer came out to the compound last night. Ironically, he does think it is the Meraki, I guess it has a “board MAC address” and a “port MAC address” and for some reason will switch MAC addresses. He plugged the ISP router in ahead of the Meraki so it will act as a switch…will call the head IT guy (kpee or kfey or something) this morning and have them ping that MAC address. So he hopes with his inside connections that the ISP will be able to restore access today. Fuckers.
MAC addresses are usually assigned by the maker. If you switch from wifi to wired you can change mac addresses. Not sure what a board mac address means.
Perhaps Kodiak can help….
Yeah, I’m clueless. There is a MAC address printed on the back of the Meraki, that is what the guy that drove all the way to my place referred to as the “board MAC address”. At that time, the ethernet cable from the ISP plugged into the back of the Meraki and another from the Meraki to the workstation. Now he wired in the ISP router “ahead” of the Meraki.

They tried to get Hock his 1rd TD as a Viking, dude just failed miserably. You have to catch at least one of those.
Run the ball. They were going up against a sub-par run D and a ferocious pass rush (best in the NFL), so we decided not to run the ball. Coaches were stupid yesterday. Plain and simple. That’s not saying we should fire them, that’s just acknowledging reality. Coaches were shit yesterday.
They must have realized soon that their masterplan wasn´t working. Why not forcing the run when THAT has been working and Dallas has a bad run defense? KOC and coaching staff sucked yesterday, just like everybody else on the Vikes.
At least everybody sucked on the same week instead of 3 separate weeks. Now they can all move on, play and coach better and remember this if they ever start thinking “this is our year” again.
Let´s hope they learn from the mistakes.

That second quarter, I was so pissed. It is all a blur, I was troubleshooting my work computer while watching but it seemed like Dallas had the ball for 90% of the second quarter. There was a FG, I think a quick Vikings 3 and out, a TD where the Vikings were calling time outs in anticipation of getting the ball back, a quick three and out to give Dallas the ball back, albeit in horrible field position, with three TO’s left. Then Dallas got to kick a 60 yard field goal, twice. Ugh. Shades of Zimmerball clock management there. I had optimistic visions of 20-10 going into the half, instead 23-3. You’re not coming back from that except maybe one time in a thousand.
Yep, I couldn’t agree more. That was the second to final nail in the coffin. They had a sliver of hope, but not much of one, after that fiasco.

Probably a better plan than what they did, which was call for 7 step drops on 3rd downs and take a sack, at least if they punt on 3rd down they are in better field position and the strip sack doesn’t happen.

Luckily I missed the first drive yesterday running to the grocery store. Got home in time to watch them tie the game. Saw Dallas score their first TD before I fell asleep. I woke up just in time to see the score and have them switch to the Bengals game. Hopefully this game is a bump in the road and a wake up call to the team. After the Bills game there was too much “this is our year”, “we’re the team to beat” talk. They needed to be brought back to earth. I expected a let down, not that bad but so be it. At the end of the season losing by 3 counts the same as losing by 37. We’ll see how they respond.
We were screwed once we won the coin toss and then KOC decided to send the offense out first. I was so irked by that. And of course leads to a sack fumble and then they double dip right before and after half

Sleep Number beds are insanely priced, but everyone I talk to that owns one says they only wish they’d have bought one sooner. We paid over a thousand for ours, and it sucks.
We have a king size with twin mattresses, like a Serta IIRC, with those power adjustable bases. I love that bed/mattresses but they aren’t adjustable for firmness. Of course that bed is in the shipping container.
The bed we sleep on in our shouse studio is a king. I think the mattress is too firm but my wife likes it, which is all that matters in the scheme of things. I could sleep in the back of a pickup travelling the Alaska highway if I had a pillow and a blanket.

Well, I re-wired up a 6-20r outlet and it didn’t pop! Which was great when I plugged in my cooktop and … no power.
I ordered the damn thing used to save ~$80, and when I looked back at my Amazon order they didn’t even send me the same one as shown in the listing. So I’ve got to return that to Amazon today and expecting an out-of-the-box new one to show up today.

I just ordered the stuff a couple days ago, so I won’t actually do the installation until December, but I was pulling out the old appliances to measure, and the 240V electric is hardwired to the appliances – no plugs. I’ll be attempting to splice some hefty wires, and I plan to do a thorough and meticulous job.
Oh fun! Good luck, all I can recommend from my foibles is to watch a couple videos on youtube of people wiring up a 240V outlet. I learned a lot about how to properly pull the wires into the outlet which is what got me last time. Hopefully the wire you’ll be using isn’t too hard to work with. I was definitely unprepared for how hard it was to manipulate 12 gauge solid copper wire.

You guys are probably right for the oven. My little project is only on a 20 amp breaker, max draw should only be ~15 amps from the cooktop.

I considered using 10 for the lower resistance on my little project, but the run is probably only going to be 4 feet at most. Plus, not sure it’s really worth it to upsize the gauge unless you’re really going to be using that outlet often.

She sent the seller’s agent a positive mold test in July, which they responded to saying they were “willing to remediate” before the offer was cancelled a day before I sent in my offer.

The guy got the offer signed, then fucked off somewhere for a “weeklong birthday trip” and then for 2 of the remaining 3 weeks he was unreachable on a fishing trip up north.

The Vikings couldn’t stop the run, at all, it was like this all game long for Dallas RBs against the Vikings “defenders”…
Speaking of defense, what kind of coverage calls for repeatedly leaving the RB completely uncovered in the flat, allowing Pollard to repeatedly catch the ball and casually saunter downfield for an easy 10-15 yards like a 5 y/o girl frolicking through a field of pansies?
If the offensive line is going to play like that then buy a casket and get a hearse because Korko is gonna die.
Worst home loss ever for the Vikings, best road win ever for the Cowboys, truly an historic ass kicking, epic even by Vikings standards. Very collaborative though, as the offense and defense were keenly in tune with each other in making sure they both sucked as bad as humanly possible, which surely makes KAM and KOC very happy and proud.

KOC really shit the bed on play calling
The Vikings offense was better last year averaging about 20 more ypg and over 2 ppg more than this offense. All the stupid purple homer rubes guaranteed the offense would be even better because KOC is a legit “innovative” OC and Kubiak sucked. Perhaps they’re primed for a second half offensive onslaught of 30+ ppg the rest of the season but I doubt it.
Kirk is reverting to his mean. Or I’m being mean. But the problem is that other teams evolve over the season, and KFC just flatout needs to get more production out of the offense, and Kirk is not capable of that.
